Fever led by 10 goals at the start of the Power Five in the final quarter before Uneeq Palavi started sinking supershots. Her four supershots from five attempts put the visitors under pressure as their lead reduced.
But Fever found a way to record an eighth straight win, after they set up the game in the first half.
Fever jumped out of the blocks with the first three goals of the match as part of a dominant opening term, where they led by seven goals at quarter time.
The Jamaican shooting duo of Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard (15 goals) and Shanice Beckford (six goals with one supershot) shared the spoils in the opening quarter.
Fran Williams led the way for the defence with two Gains, an Intercept and a Rebound to help propel Fever’s attack.
Fever extended their lead to 11 goals by half time, despite three second quarter supershots to the Mavericks.
The visitors built their half time lead by converting their gains as well scoring five goals from unforced turnovers as their defensive pressure turned up the heat on the hosts.
Jordan Cransberg and Alice Teague-Neeld were important in the second quarter as their composure through the midcourt saw them combine for 15 Feeds.
Teague-Neeld was excellent for Fever across the four quarters, finishing with 95.5 Nissan Net Points 33 Feeds, 23 Goal Assists, a Gain and an Intercept.
It was the Mavericks who came out stronger after half time as they turned the tables on the visitors to win the third quarter by three goals and set up their final quarter charge.
Fowler-Nembhard was ever consistent for Fever, scoring 57 goals. While Beckford provided great support and taking her opportunities when the Mavericks tried to double team the superstar shooter.
