West Coast Fever is delighted to announce Sue Gaudion has commenced a new role as the Club’s General Manager (Pathways and Performance).
Gaudion has been a specialist High Performance Coach with the Club since 2018 and has immediately commenced her new role. Sue will continue with her coaching duties whilst transitioning fully into her new role upon Head Coach Stacey Marinkovich’s return from Australian Diamonds duty in New Zealand for the upcoming Constellation Cup series.
An Australian netball icon, Gaudion has coached at all levels of netball in Australia, including Head Coach of West Coast Fever in 2008, when they transitioned from the Perth Orioles and in 2018, received Netball WA’s highest honour, with Netball WA Life Membership.
Gaudion’s netball coaching history is extensive, having coached the Perth Orioles in 2007, The WA State 21U team in 2005, where the team claimed their first National Championship in 33 years and in 2006 where the team finished second.
From 2003-2006, Gaudion coached South East Demons State team, she went on to become the Head Coach of the Australian Institute of Sport from 2009-2011 and was the Assistant Coach for the Australian 21U team in 2011.
Gaudion said she is looking forward to further growing the Club and putting the challenges of 2020 behind, as the Club focusses on the 2021 season.
“I have been part of this Club for so long, it’s my family and I am really excited to be taking on this role and working with not only the players and coaches but also our partners, fans and members,” Gaudion said.
“We had a roller coaster 2020 season as the Club spent 82 days in a hub, but we made it to the grand final and will continue to strive for success and show our grit.”
As the West Coast Fever General Manager (Pathways and Performance), Gaudion will support the strategic direction of the Club, oversee club operations and high-performance pathways across West Coast Fever. She will also continue her commentary role with Channel 9.
