It has been a busy pre-season for West Coast Fever defender Sunday Aryang.
As well as preparing for the 2023 Suncorp Super Netball Season with her Fever teammates, Aryang has also been in the Origin Diamonds environment for matches against New Zealand and a recent tour to South Africa.
Aryang said her time with the Diamonds at the Quad Series in South Africa was very enjoyable as the team built towards this year’s World Cup.
“It was a really enjoyable trip and being back with the [Diamonds] girls is always fun. Being able to build that connection is always the best thing so we can take it out on court,” Aryang said after her return to the Fever environment.
She said her focus was now on preparing for the SSN season with Fever and she is loving being back in the Fever environment.
“I’ve come back and I can already see the difference from when I left and to now. I feel we are back into building those connections and getting ready for the SSN season.”
The arrival of defender Kim Jenner from the Firebirds means that Aryang is focused on building a connection with the club’s newest squad member.
“My key focus is building that connection with Kimmy as she is new in the team. It is being able to know how she plays, what she likes, what works and building that connection.”
Aryang also wants to work on her own personal goals to ensure she can perform week-in, week-out for Fever in 2023.
“I am most looking forward to going back out there and playing with the girls again,” she said.
“We had an amazing season last year so to be able to go back out there and try and do the same and really focus on what our goals are and to hopefully get another premiership.”
