Brazill, who played for Fever between 2012 and 2016 as well as representing the Origin Australian Diamonds on 29 occasions, will take on a Club Specialist Coach position assisting Fever and the Fever Reserves.
Since her retirement from netball, Brazill has been an assistant coach with the Peel Lightning in the Gold Industry Group WA Netball League alongside her AFLW commitments.
The World Cup Winner and Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist said: “Walking back through these doors gave me a flashback to my playing days,” Brazill said.
“I was privileged to captain Fever and leaving was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made. This Club has always held a special place in my heart, so to return now in a coaching role feels incredible and I can’t wait to get started.”
Brazill said her passion for coaching developed during the latter stages of her career.
“Netball is in my blood, and towards the end of my playing days I felt like more of an on-court coach than a player. I loved mentoring younger athletes and helping them grow, it became more rewarding than wins and losses.”
She said she was eager to contribute to Fever’s success.
“This Club has been outstanding over the past few seasons, and while I don’t know Dan well yet, I’ve heard great things. I can’t wait to get my hands dirty, jump in and get to work with the midcourters and defenders”
General Manager Sara Francis-Bayman said the Club was thrilled to welcome some of Brazill’s calibre back to the Club.
"It’s fantastic to welcome a Club legend back into the fold. Ash isn’t just a name on our honour boards, she’s someone our players have grown up admiring and respecting," Francis-Bayman said.
“To have her experience, leadership, and connection to Fever embedded in our coaching team is incredibly powerful. She knows what this Club stands for, and that history will inspire our athletes every day.
"Ash isn’t just a former Diamond, she’s a proven leader with a wealth of experience at the highest level of the game.
“Her knowledge, professionalism and competitive edge will be instrumental in shaping our SSN and Super Reserves squads for what promises to be one of the most competitive seasons yet."
