West Coast Fever Assistant Coach Belinda Reynolds has been announced as the new Head Coach of the Sunshine Coast Lightning.
Reynolds has been an Assistant Coach of the Fever for the past five seasons, working under Premiership Coach Dan Ryan and Australian Diamonds mentor Stacey Marinkovich.
West Coast Fever General Manager – Performance & Pathway Sue Gaudion said Reynolds had head coaching aspirations.
“The Sunshine Coast job is a magnificent opportunity for Belinda, who has been an integral part of our club for the past five seasons. She is a quality person and coach and will be sorely missed by our club,” Gaudion said.
“Belinda’s selection to the Lightning position highlights the quality program we run here at the Fever. We are very excited to have developed a head coach out of our club and we wish her well in her new role at the Lightning.”
Head Coach Dan Ryan said: “It’s always sad to lose great people from your team, but I’m so proud to see Belinda chasing her dream.
“I’ve absolutely loved coaching with Belinda this past year and we created such a great partnership together. We really brought out the best in each other and had so much fun along the way to our first ever premiership. They’ll be memories I’ll cherish forever.
"I wish her all the best in this exciting new chapter of her coaching journey.”
West Coast Fever has commenced a process to fill the vacant Assistant Coach position.
