West Coast Fever is pleased to announce the re-signing of shooter, Kaylia Stanton, until the end of the 2020 Suncorp Super Netball season.
Stanton’s signature finalises West Coast Fever’s squad for next season, making them the first Club in the competition to secure their 10 contracted athletes.
The 25-year-old shooter had a great start to the season forming a key combination with star Jamaican shooter Jhaniele Fowler before succumbing to a foot injury mid season.
Stanton played 10 games for Fever this season and was the Suncorp Super Netball Nissan Net Points Player of the Round in Round 4; voted the top player in the Team of the Week.
West Coast Fever Head Coach Stacey Marinkovich said she was excited to have Stanton signed for next year.
“We are thrilled to have Kaylia back on board in 2020,” Marinkovich said.
“We look forward to building upon her continued growth and development and further challenging her connections and understanding within our attacking unit next season.”
Stanton said she was excited to have signed for 2020.
“I’ve been a Fever player for six years, I love Perth and the passion our members bring to game day,” Stanton said.
“I’m looking forward to playing my role in our team’s game and with the coaching staff, show our loyal members we’re worthy of their support.”
Despite her limited game time in the second half of the season, Stanton amassed a total of 311.5 Nissan Net Points and scored 73 goals during 2019.
With all 10 contracted athletes now signed for 2020, Marinkovich said she was looking forward to the fourth season of Suncorp Super Netball.
“Stability is a key foundation of success and we are looking forward to maximising the continuity within our playing roster and optimising these relationships as we seek to improve our results in 2020,” she said.
“Having the ability to implement the key findings coming out of our review process with a stable and available playing group will give us a jump on our preparations for next season.”
