The underpinning team of West Coast Fever, Western Sting competes in the Deakin University Australian Netball League.

Joining the competition in 2011, Western Sting claimed its maiden premiership in 2017, defeating the Victorian Fury at the Gold Netball Centre.

The Deakin University Australian Netball League is Netball Australia’s feeder competition into Suncorp Super Netball, providing a pathway for the development and identification of national athletes, coaches, administrators and officials in Australia.

The league began in 2008, and now involves teams from all six states and two territories.
