West Coast Fever will finalise their preparations for the 2019 Suncorp Super Netball season, when they face the Melbourne Vixens in two pre season games this weekend.
Saturday’s game will again be held in Mandurah, with the game sold out, while the second game of the weekend will be held at the State Netball Centre.
It will be the first time Olivia Lewis and Alice Teague-Neeld step out on court in a green dress in Western Australia.
Head Coach Stacey Marinkovich said she was looking forward to playing in front of a home crowd for the first time in 2019.
“We have the best fans in the League, so we’re really excited to be able to get on court in Mandurah and Perth and highlight to our supporters what we have been working on during the pre season,” Marinkovich said.
“This is the final tune up before Round 1 against the Adelaide Thunderbirds, so we are looking forward to testing ourselves this weekend against the Vixens.”
“I would urge all of our Members and fans to grab a ticket to Sunday’s game and throw their support behind the Club.”
Marinkovich is taking her 10 contracted athletes into both games, and said she would use the matches as a final testing ground.
“It’s really important that we use these two matches to our advantage and transfer what we have been doing in training to the match environment.”
“The Vixens will present a great challenge for us, and there’s no doubt both sides will play the games at a high intensity in preparation for the season.”
