West Coast Fever has unveiled their first signings of the contracting window, with midcourters Verity Charles, Ingrid Colyer and Shannon Eagland all committing to the Club on multi-year deals.
The trio’s signatures come off the back of Fever’s most successful campaign to date, which included Sunday’s Grand Final against the Sunshine Coast Lightning.
One of the hardest-working midcourters in the game, Charles made her debut for Fever in 2012, before moving to the Queensland for two seasons, and then returning to the West, where she has been an integral part of the Fever squad since 2016.
Equally hard working, the pocket rocket Colyer, who hails from Karridale, has continued her rapid rise in 2018, ending the season with 281 centre pass receives and 124 goal assists.
A member of the Leadership Group, Eagland has once again proven to be a reliable option for Head Coach Stacey Marinkovich, with the defensive midcourter used across the season, following her return from a torn anterior cruciate ligament last year.
Marinkovich noted the importance of the trio’s signatures.
“Verity, Ingrid and Shannon have all shown this season that they are outstanding leaders both on and off the court,” Marinkovich said.
“The versatility that these three bring to the game is something rare, and we are excited about the prospect of their ongoing development.”
“As a Club, we have a firm vision to be the best elite netball club, on and off the court, and we operate with a clear view to the future, and Verity, Ingrid and Shannon are certainly integral to our successes.”
Fever is urging the West Australian sporting community to get behind the Club and register for a 2019 Membership here.
