Fowler set to shine in front of family

West Coast Fever shooter Jhaniele Fowler says she's preparing for a fired-up Sunshine Coast Lightning, when the two sides go head to head on tomorrow night at HBF Stadium.

The two sides last met in Round 3 in Sippy Downs, with Fever walking away with a nailbiting one-goal victory.

"I expect they're going to coming out gunning for us," Fowler said.

"We just beat them in the first encounter, but for us, we're just going to play our way and stick to the task."

"Just as they have their analyst on us, we have the same, so it won't be the same as last game."

The Jamaican sharp shooter has taken the League by storm in her first season with Fever, leading all scorers with 505 goals, 136 ahead of Caitlin Thwaites, but warned she could take her game to another level, thanks to the support from the arrival of her family from her homeland.

"My family arrived a week ago, and that's made me so happy and made me feel much more at home."

"Knowing that I have them with me is such a relief, because I know I can go home to them, so having them here has been really good."

"It was pretty hard, I kind of covered it a bit, but my Fever Family helped me to cope, so that was really good."

"There's always room for improvement, and I feel like I have so much room to grow."

Fowler said she was excited to have her family in the stands for the first time tomorrow night, and also got a new tattoo to mark her family's arrival.

"I got a little tattoo with a rose and a netball inside of it."

"The rose signifies my mum because she loves roses, and the netball is to signify myself."

"Even though I am always focused, I always take a peek to see where they are."

"My mum is so loud, HBF Stadium is really loud, and I think she's going to top that tomorrow."

Fever take on the Sunshine Coast Lightning in the inaugural League-wide Indigenous Round at HBF Stadium tomorrow night, with the Club marking the occasion with a special Welcome to Country on court at 6.40pm.

Less than 100 tickets remain for the match, with extremely limited seats available here
