Fever refreshed and refocused following bye

West Coast Fever have returned from the League-wide bye week ready to attack the second half of the inaugural season of Suncorp Super Netball, according to Vice Captain Verity Charles.

Fever’s first assignment in the final six weeks of the season is a road trip to Brisbane to take on the Queensland Firebirds this Saturday night.

It’s the second meeting between the two sides this season, with the Firebirds claiming the victory in the first matchup in Round 3 at Perth Arena, however Charles said the West Coast side was prepared for this weekend's clash.

“The Firebirds always present a challenge and force you to produce your best netball to get a result,” Charles said.

“They are a hardworking, ruthless team who’ve enjoyed great success for a reason.”

With Fever recording two wins from their previous four encounters, Charles said the bye week allowed the players, coaches and support staff the opportunity to reflect on the first eight games of the season.

“We’ve returned from the break refreshed and refocused and are certainly looking forward to travelling to Brisbane and putting the Fever brand of netball to the test against a quality opposition.”

“While each team, including our own, continues to improve each week, we look forward to bridging the gap and building from our previous encounters.”

Fans can watch Fever’s clash with the Queensland Firebirds live on 9Gem from 6.45pm (AWST) on Saturday evening.
