Fever announce Training Partners

West Coast Fever is pleased to announce their four Training Partners for the 2019 Suncorp Super Netball season.

Western Sting Captain and midcourter Jess Eales will enter her third season as a Training Partner, while shooter Emma Cosh and defender Jess Penny will join Fever for their second season.

Up and coming defender Sunday Aryang has been selected for the first time, replacing Olivia Lewis, who was awarded a full time contract with the Club for 2019.

Cosh and Penny were members of the Coastal Sharks’ West Australian Netball League (WANL) premiership winning side this year, while Eales led the Sting to their maiden Australian Netball League Gold Medal in 2017.

Aryang was also a Western Sting Gold Medal winner in 2017, and was a staple in defence for the Perth Lions in WANL this year.

Born in Ethiopia before moving to Perth at a young age, Aryang was selected in this year’s West Australian 19U State Team, and was named in the National 19U squad who attended a camp in Canberra, where she was named in the top three athletes in the country.

West Coast Fever Head Coach Stacey Marinkovich said she was excited to welcome the four athletes into training next season.

“We have been lucky enough to have had three of our four Training Partners in our environment for some time, and we’re well aware of what Sunday is capable of, so I am incredibly excited to have these athletes join us for 2019,” Marinkovich said.

“All four of these athletes are wonderful products of the Netball WA Athlete Pathway, and of our full squad of 10 contracted athletes and four training partners, nine are from WA, so that certainly shows the strength of West Australian netball, and that’s something we’re incredibly proud of.”

“I am looking forward to seeing these four athletes join us in the training environment in 2019 and I have no doubt that they will challenge our contracted athletes in different ways."

The Training Partners will enter the West Coast Fever environment in the coming weeks.

West Coast Fever Memberships for the third season of Suncorp Super Netball are now on sale, with the Club already experiencing record levels of sales just a week in.
