West Coast Fever will travel to Melbourne for the first time in season 2018 to take on the dangerous Melbourne Vixens in their Round 7 clash at Hisense Arena.
Fever will be keen to keep their one game break on the competition and stay on top of the ladder after holding on for a nail-biting two-goal win in over the Giants in Round 6.
In contrast, Vixens are looking to snap a form slump where they have lost three of their past four games to sit sixth on the ladder after their Round 6 defeat to Sunshine Coast Lightning.
Jhaniele Fowler continues to go from strength to strength at her new home, blitzing the competition in the shooting circle with 321 goals to date.
While Fowler is getting the job done in the circle, it’s the work through the mid court from Ingrid Colyer (128 centre pass receives), Verity Charles (nine intercepts) and Nat Medhurst (155 goal assists) that has given her multiple opportunities to shoot a winning score.
Although Fever’s starting seven is well established in 2018, Head Coach Stacey Marinkovich still has plenty of firepower at her disposal on the bench, with Shannon Eagland coming on in Round 6 showing she can fill a variety of roles if needed, while Annika Lee-Jones and Kaylia Stanton have also been used in 2018.
The Vixens boast talent across the court, with Mwai Kumwenda dangerous in the goal circle alongside Teagan Phillip, while Liz Watson has shown why she is one of the game's best midcourters, as has Kate Moloney.
Renee Ingles has returned to the Vixens, following Chloe Watson's pregnancy announcement, however it's the Vixens' defensive duo of Jo Weston and Emily Mannix that has been the most constant performer for the Melbourne side over the opening six rounds.
