While the second season of Suncorp Super Netball is more than six months away, West Coast Fever fans are already embracing the competition, with a record number of people registering their interest for a season membership.
More than 1,250 fans have submitted their details to join the Club as a Member in 2018, with the Fever faithful buoyed by strong performances in 2017, including wins against the NSW Swifts and Adelaide Thunderbirds, as well as pushing eventual Grand Finalists GIANTS Netball and the star-studded Magpies Netball.
West Coast Fever Executive Officer Tamara Sheppard thanked the Fever community for their ongoing support.
“We know we have the best netball fans in the country, and it’s incredibly exciting to see so many Fever fans show their support so far out from the start of the next season,” Sheppard said.
“To know that our fans are buying into the Fever way of playing netball is also something we are incredibly proud of, and it’s important for our fans to know that we are doing everything to achieve the success that they so richly deserve.”
The signing of Jamaican shooter Jhaniele Fowler-Reid, and her pending combinations with Nat Medhurst and Kaylia Stanton, has also boosted the confidence of Fever fans.
Fowler-Reid joins the Club at the peak of her career, having spent the past five seasons at New Zealand franchise Southern Steel, converting 3,678 goals at 91% accuracy.
Samsung Diamond Courtney Bruce will again line-up with English international defender Stacey Francis, as they continue to form one of the strongest defensive circles in the League, alongside WA youngster Annika Lee-Jones.
The highly touted Shannon Eagland will return to the court, following surgery to repair her ruptured ACL, and will join fellow midcourters Verity Charles, Ingrid Colyer and 2017 Most Valuable Player Jess Anstiss.
West Coast Fever’s 2018 Memberships will go on sale in the coming months.
